Ally Pool

“At the age of 19, I was involved in a car accident that left me with 2 gastric lacerations in my stomach, a C2 hangman bone fracture in my neck, collapsed lungs, a ruptured spleen & all organs bleeding internally & a T12 spinal cord injury that left me paralyzed from the waist down.

Through it all, I've become a better person, a stronger person & I've become more "me" than I've ever been. Now, I use every chance I get to inspire others & motivate them to always keep going no matter what life may throw at them. There are always greater things ahead than what has passed!’

After nearly 2 years of being in a wheel chair Ally had lost a large amount of muscle mass in her legs.

It is very important to continue to work those muscles in order to keep them strong if she will ever regain use of her legs. Along with improving circulation and other issues anyone with an SCI has to endure on a daily basis that are all secondary to the paralyzation. While in rehab at The Shephard Center they regularly put her in a standing frame to help those muscles and help with circulation. Ally has always wanted a standing frame at home. If she could get a standing frame it would help improve her health and lifestyle in so many ways.

Ally raised funds via gofundme for her new easystand

“There's no better feeling than being able to stand up and stretch out after a long day of sitting!

Huge thanks to Easystand”
